Goalkeeper of Paris Saint Germain Sergio Rico who suffered a head injury in a riding accident, could be discharged from hospital within two weeks, according to The Athletic.
At the end of May, the Spaniard was hospitalized after an accident while riding a horse. The 29-year-old hit his head and was also kicked in the neck. The material indicates that the officers who arrived at the scene assumed that Rico was dead. The goalkeeper was diagnosed with a cerebral hemorrhage, the player was in intensive care, but in early July he was transferred to an ordinary ward.
According to the publication, the goalkeeper’s exit was postponed due to the presence of mucus in one of his lungs. In addition, Rico lost around 20 kg in five weeks and lost almost 30% of his muscle mass.
Before making a dismissal decision, the goalkeeper will have to undergo a check-up. Athletic say Rico will be released after receiving positive CT scan results and will recover at his home in Sevilla for several months.
“His return to the field is unlikely, but after his miraculous recovery, no one can rule anything out,” the report noted.
