This Friday, the 7th, the saints became aware of an extremely severe punishment for following the Brazilian. After the episode of invasions and objects thrown onto the field in the defeat against Corinthiansat Vila BelmiroPeixão was punished with eight games behind closed doors, the loss of control of the field and a fine of R$ 80 thousand.
After the 5th Disciplinary Committee of the STJD, it was understood that Santos will have to bear these consequences, even if it is still open for the use of a resource. In the 11th round of BrazilianPeixe played its first match without fans and, this Sunday, the 10th, will have its second match behind closed doors, against Goias.
However, in addition to not being able to count on the support of their fans, the alvinegra team will have most of their matches played away from Vila Belmiro, as the punishment includes the loss of field command. However, due to the lack of time to organize the match, the confrontation against Goiás will be in the city of Santos.
Santos was indicted based on paragraphs I and III of article 213 of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice (CBJD), which deals with “failing to take measures capable of preventing and repressing”. The first paragraph encompasses the disorder in its square, while the third deals with the throwing of objects in the field of dispute.
So far, Santos has not yet publicly commented on the punishment. However, it is understandable that the club will seek to claim the decisions of the STJD, as the punishment opens up space for the use of resources.
