Lesya lost to the American in two sets
Ukrainian tennis player Lesya Tsurenko lost to an American Jessica Pegula in the 1/8 finals Wimbledon 2023.
In the first set, Tsurenko gave the fourth racket of the world two games on her serve and lost 1:6. In the second game, Pegula converted three breakpoints and won 6:3.
Note that reaching the 1/8 finals is Tsurenko’s best result at Wimbledon. Earlier, Lesya and Romanian Ana Bogdan set a new record by playing the longest women’s singles tie-break in Grand Slam history.
Pegula in the 1/4 finals will play with the Czech Marketa Vondrousova. The match is scheduled for July 11.
Elina Svitolina will perform in the 1/8 finals of Wimbledon 2023 today. Former first racket of Ukraine will play with Victoria Azarenka. Estimated start of the match – no earlier than 18:40 Kyiv time.
