Pyatov retired as a player and will join Shakhtar’s coaching staff

The goalkeeper will play his farewell match on August 6 against Tottenham Hotspur

Shakhtar goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov officially ended his career as a professional player.

The goalkeeper will join the Pitmen’s coaching staff. The keeper will play his farewell match on June 6 against Tottenham: a charity game with the Spurs in London will be held in support of the Ukrainian people.

Pyatov played for Shakhtar for 16 years. He has 482 matches to his credit, which is the third figure in the history of the club and the largest number of games among Shakhtar’s goalkeepers.

In total, Pyatov won 28 trophies with Shakhtar, setting an absolute club record. On his account – 11 titles of the champion of Ukraine, as well as a victory in the UEFA Cup in 2009.

Pyatov made his debut for the national team of Ukraine in August 2007 and played 102 matches for the main team of the country in all tournaments. Now Andrei is the ambassador of the blue and yellow.

The Donetsk club became the champion of Ukraine in the 2022/23 season. The Pitmen got into the third pot of the draw for the next Champions League group stage.
