Gabriela Anelli, a young Palmeiras fan, died after being hit in a fight near Allianz Parque, before the game against Flamengo
Gabriela Anellifan of palm treesdied this Monday, 10, at the age of 23, after being hit by a glass bottle during a scuffle before the game against Flamengo. She was hospitalized in serious condition. The information was released by the young woman’s family.
“Thank you to everyone who prayed for my sister. But she went to live with her daddy from heaven. There are things that happen that are beyond our limits of understanding. I know how hard you fought every second and you were indeed always a warrior. Watch over us from heaven and protect our family.” he wrote Felipe MarchianoGabriela’s brother, on social media.
Gabriela was hospitalized at Santa Casa, in the center of São Paulo. The young woman from Palmeira suffered two cardiac arrests after being hit by a glass bottle while queuing to enter Allianz Parque.
When the confusion started in the vicinity of the Palmeirense stadium, between organized clubs from São Paulo and Flamengo, the police acted and used pepper spray to disperse the groups. According to Felipe Marchiano, she was rescued by an ambulance inside Allianz Parque and underwent surgery on Saturday night.
The fight started on Rua Caraíbas, close to gate “A” of the stadium, after people from Palmeiras identified two Flamengo supporters in the area. According to the Public Security Secretariat of São Paulo (SSP), fans of the team from São Paulo began to follow rival fans to attack them.

“We deeply regret the death of fan Gabriela Anelli, hit by a bottle near Allianz Parque, before the game against Flamengo, on Saturday. We cannot accept that a 23-year-old young woman is a victim of barbarism in an environment that should be entertainment. We express solidarity with the family of Palmeirense and demand speed in the investigation of this crime, which hurts our reason for existing and compromises the image of Brazilian football”, wrote Palmeiras in a note.
