Former Arsenal and Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor won the FIFA court in a lawsuit for his wrongful dismissal from the Paraguayan Olimpia.
The striker joined Olimpia Paraguay in early 2020, just months before the pandemic hit. Against this backdrop, matches were canceled for several months, and when matches began to resume, Adebayor was sacked in June of that year. The footballer spent only four matches for the club and disagreed with his dismissal. Football’s governing body has now ordered Olimpia to pay Adebayor $510,000 plus 12%.
“We can’t do anything about the contracts that were signed earlier, but the club will change its salary policy and introduce a ceiling. Adebayor received 200,000 dollars per month, – quotes the words of the new president of Olimpia, Miguel Cardona, The Mirror.
