Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay intend to submit a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup

Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay have announced their intention to nominate themselves to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The political and sports authorities of the four countries met in Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay, to present the outline of the official candidacy.

The aim is to mark the centenary of the World Cup in South America, where the first World Cup took place in 1930 in Uruguay.

Earlier, from Europe, Portugal and Spain also officially submitted their bids to host the 2030 World Cup. In 2022, the World Cup is expected to be held in Qatar, and in 2026, the tournament is jointly organized by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
