The head of the UAF is in jail
The Ukrainian Football Association announced that Shevchenkovsky court of the city of Lviv did not extend the suspension Andrey Pavelko from office President of the UAF.
The press service of the UAF noted that the decision to remove Pavelko did not come into force.
In May, the Kiev Pechersk Court extended the removal of Pavelko from the post of UAF President until July 9, 2023. The court also extended the investigation period in the case of the head of the UAF and the general secretary of the organization Yuri Zapisotsky until November 23, 2023.
In mid-June, the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Lviv placed Pavelko in a pre-trial detention center for a period of 60 days, until August 14, inclusive. A pledge of 9.88 million hryvnia, which was previously paid for the head of the UAF, was transferred to the state.
The UAF considers the entire process to be commissioned work from the former leaders of the association. In 2018, the Schemes program conducted an investigation, as a result of which journalists suspected the UAF and its president Andriy Pavelko of corruption through a factory for the production of artificial fields.
