Earlier, Transfermarkt reported that Promes had been “suspended by the sports court from participating in all competitions” from June 19, 2023. Zelenov said they had not received any decision from the sports courts regarding Promes and that a mistake might have been made on the portal. The club’s press service clarified that Promes is preparing for the new season and that his contract with the club ends in a year.
Promes had previously been sentenced by an Amsterdam court to 1.5 years in prison for an armed attack on his cousin in 2020.
