Joshua: I fought Usyk, he takes punches. But he is a fighter of the highest caliber

Anthony gives Dubois a chance against Ukrainian

Former World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua commented on the upcoming fight between the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and British heavyweight Daniel Dubois.

“Boxing is a great business, a great game. That’s why we’re following him. I really respect Usyk. I really respect. I know how hard this guy works. His success doesn’t come from luck, it comes from hard work. But it would also be good to see Dubois win. It seems like a dream for them. Yes, I’m giving him a chance.”

“I fought Usyk and he misses. He misses. Passes. If he misses incorrectly, he could be knocked out. This is heavyweight boxing. It’s not heavyweight, it’s not light heavyweight, it’s heavyweight boxing. Here you are dealing with very serious blows, heavy blows. That’s why I’m definitely giving him a puncher chance.”

“Usyk is a fighter of the highest caliber. There are levels. But at the same time, if you give the opportunity to fight, Dubois can also reach that level. That’s why I don’t write off Dubois.”

The duel between Usyk and Dubois is officially announced on August 26. The event will take place in Wroclaw, Poland, at the Tarczynski Arena. It was reported that Usyk will receive 75% of the total prize fund – $6 million. Dubois can count on 25% – 2 million.

Alexander in his last fight again defeated Briton Anthony Joshua, defending his belts. Dubois defeated Kevin Lerena by TKO in December and retained the status of the mandatory contender for the WBA belt, owned by the Ukrainian.
