PSG set to cut payroll
Atlético Interested in transferring midfielder PSG Marco Verratti.
The midfielder is the main goal of the Madrid club, however, in order to complete the purchase, Atlético must sell several players. In turn, PSG expects to get rid of Verratti and unload the payroll.
The Italian midfielder no longer has the status of “untouchable” in the team. Recall that in December, Verratti extended the contract with the Parisians until the summer of 2026.
The 30-year-old midfielder made 38 appearances for PSG in all competitions last season, scoring one assist.
Earlier, Al-Hilal made a request to PSG about the transfer of Verratti. The midfielder was offered a contract until 2026 with an annual salary of 25 million euros.
PSG won the title in France. Atlético finished third in La Liga.
