FIFA announced that it paid football clubs more than $200 million for the players who played in the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
Manchester City received the most with $4.6 million. Next on the list are Barcelona, Bayern, Real Madrid and PSG. It is reported that payments to clubs are carried out in accordance with the number of days that each player spent at the 2022 World Cup.
A total of 440 clubs have received some form of payment, with the actual amount based on player transfers during qualifying.
It is also reported that at the World Cups in 2026 and 2030, clubs will be able to count on large payments for the participation of football players in the World Cup.
The World Cup in Qatar was held from November 20 to December 18, 2022. Argentina won the tournament after beating France in the final on penalties.
