Former Zenith footballer Constantin Lepekhine called a step forward for linebacker Daler Kuzyaeva switch to french Le Havre .
Le Havre announced on Wednesday the transfer of the midfielder on a free trade basis. The deal with the 30-year-old Russian is designed for two seasons.
– If Kuzyaev can make himself known and become a main team player, in the future he can theoretically find a more prestigious club in Europe. For any Russian football player, playing in the top league in Europe will benefit, it’s a wonderful experience. The transfer to Le Havre is a step forward for Kuzyaev.
Isn’t it too late to go to Europe at 30?
– You have to understand that Daler wanted to play there, that’s the most important thing. Now there is an opportunity – just like that, transfers don’t happen. Le Havre signed Daler because this club trusts Kuzyaev. Many Russian footballers want to play in France, but few are called, – Lepekhin is quoted by RB Sport.
Kuzyaev has been playing for Zenit since 2017, he also played for Terek Grozny and Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk. He has 46 appearances and two goals for the Russian national team.
At the end of the 2022/23 season, Le Havre enters the elite division of the French championship.
