The player will continue to play for Dnipro until the end of 2023
SC Dnepr-1 extended the lease agreement with the defender Alexander Kaplienko.
The new contract between Dnipro-1 and Metalist is calculated until the end of 2023. As part of the team of Oleksandr Kucher, the defender has been playing since the beginning of March and has played seven games for Dnipro.
Kaplienko, 27, has been playing for Metalist since August 2022. The Ukrainian also played for Metallurg (Zaporozhye), Chernomorets, Dynamo (Tbilisi) and the Latvian Auda.
In early July, the Dnipro team paid $250,000 for Alexandria defender Denis Miroshnichenko. In addition, midfielder Maxim Tretyakov moved from Alexandria to the camp of Dnepr-1.
Also, before the start of the new season, SC Dnipro-1 signed goalkeeper Roman Mysak, defenders Oleg Gorin and Vasily Kravets.
Last season, Dnepr-1 took second place in the standings of the Ukrainian championship. In the second qualifying round of the Champions League, Oleksandr Kucher’s team will play Panathinaikos on July 25 and August 1.
