The president’s story: “Either die a hero or live long enough to be a villain”

If all goes according to plan, the era of Massimiliano Santopadre at Perugia will end next week. A ten-year journey during which the Umbrian club experienced a rather peaceful period in Serie B, ending with two relegations to the Pro League in the last three years. This situation made me think about the bittersweet fate of football club owners. Often and willingly devoid of rationality in assessments both from the side of the square (humorous by definition) and from the side of the press.

From this point of view, the positive aspects of the path are often and voluntarily hidden behind the difficulties that usually lead the entrepreneur to failure. As if only the latter was the only thing that really happened. But is it really fair to have such a limited “field of vision,” especially in an age where an “old-style” president at every professional level deals with funds and property from all over the world, with a vastly different economic arsenal at his disposal?

As mentioned earlier, area fans come from their gut, and rightly so. After all, being a fan of something starts with the assumption that he has very little rational attitude towards the topic at hand. But for everyone else, suitable for work, printing, etc., it can’t be the same. However, in the end, the conclusions are often the same.
