Atletico Madrid agrees to sell Renan Lodi, says newspaper

After considering returning to Brazilian football, Renan Lodi, player of Atlético de Madrid, seems to have a new destiny in Europe, according to the Spanish newspaper ‘Marca’

Renan Lodiwhich lost space in the Madrid’s athleticand was loaned to Nottingham Forest, from England, is leaving the Spanish club. According to ‘Brand‘, the Brazilian lives his last hours as Colchonero, because he is agreed with the Olympique de Marseillefrom France, and should leave for the new team later this week.

According to the Spanish newspaper, the left-back is due to sign a five-year contract with the French club, but the terms are still being finalized and nothing is concrete. At first, Atlético de Madrid determined a price of 20 million euros for the player, about R$ 107 million at the current quotation, but the deal was closed for 13 million (almost R$ 70 million).

Despite the drop in expectations regarding the sale price, Atleti will not do so badly in the negotiation, as it won an important clause in Lodi’s new contract. According to ‘Marca’, the Diego Simeone will have 20% of the amount received for a future sale of the Brazilian.

The Brazilian player, who no longer saw the mood to stay at Atlético de Madrid, seems to be excited about his new destination. After considering a possible return to Brazil, Renan Lodi evaluates the opportunity to compete in the Champions League by Olympique de Marseille as positive, but has not yet given its final verdict on the transfer, which has yet to be announced by either club.
