Initially, coach Furia Rohi intended to leave the camp of the national team after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. However, now Enrique has informed the leadership of the Royal Spanish Football Federation about his desire to continue working in the national team until the summer of 2023.

Also, the 52-year-old specialist expects to return to club work in the future. The decision on the fate of Enrique at the head of the Spanish national team will be made on the basis of the performances of the national team in Qatar.

Enrique has led the Spanish national team since 2018 intermittently. From 2014 to 2017, the Spanish specialist worked in Barcelona, ​​with whom he won the Spanish Championship twice.

In Qatar, Enrique’s team will play against Costa Rica, Germany and Japan in the group stage. The 2022 World Cup will take place from November 21 to December 18.
