According to the statement, the investor, who owns the Sociedade Anônima de Futebol (SAF) in Botafogowill buy 66.5% of the French team and can increase the percentage to 88.55.

According to Lyon, the club is worth 798 million euros (about R$4.3 billion, at the current price). The statement did not inform the values ​​of the negotiation with Textor, but the French press points out that the acquisition should be concluded for 86 million euros (about R$ 469 million).

According to the statement, the operation will cede the entire shares of Pathe SAS and IDG Capital. Subsequently, Textor would have part of the shares of Holnest, which belongs to the family of Jean-Michel Classes, owner of Lyon since 1987. The purchase will be made by Eagle Football Holdings, the investor’s company. Aulas will continue as CEO of the club for the next three seasons and will still have an administrative position at Textor’s company.

“The project I discovered in Lyon with Jean-Michel Aulas and all his teams will be at the epicenter of our new organization and our investments in the service of world football. Lyon will be the cornerstone of our project”, Textor said in the statement. He and Aulas will hold a press conference this Tuesday.
