Athletistic/Football. Zenit head coach Sergei Semak has confirmed that midfielder Wendel has expressed a desire to leave the club.
When asked why Wendel was not included in the bid for the Russian championship, Semak replied that the player was not in the squad yet and was considering leaving. If Wendel finds a good team, and the offer suits Zenit, then the club is ready to consider the possibility of his transfer.
Earlier, journalist Jorge Nicola reported on Wendel’s strained relationship with the blue-white-blue management.
The midfielder’s contract with Zenit is valid until the end of June 2027. Wendel joined the club from Sporting in 2020.
