Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham commented on the transfer of the Argentine footballer to his team Lionel Messi .
“Ten years ago, when I began my journey to launch a new team in Miami, I said it was my dream to bring the greatest players in the world to this incredible city. Today this dream has come true. I’m very proud to have a player of Leo’s level join our club, but I’m also happy to welcome a good friend, a wonderful man and his wonderful family to our Inter Miami community. The next step of our adventure starts now, and I can’t wait for Leo to step onto the pitch,” Beckham said as quoted by the club’s press service.
Messi previously left PSG, for whom he has been playing since 2021. In 75 appearances for the team, he has scored 32 goals and made 35 assists. Before that, Lionel defended the colors of Barcelona, with which he won the Spanish championship ten times and the Champions League four times.
