Athletistic/Football. Former Zenit head coach Vlastimil Petrzhela commented on St. Petersburg’s Russian Super Cup win over CSKA. The match ended in a 0-0 draw and Zenit won 5-4 on penalties.

Petrzhela noted that although Zenit won today, the team only took three shots on goal which surprised him. He feels Saint Petersburg should have won a more confident win over CSKA in regular time. He also pointed out that the team was unable to deliver a single shot on CSKA’s target, which is a disaster. In his opinion, in the RPL, Zenit should play the other way – more confidently and efficiently.

Regarding the squad composition, Petrjela noted that Zenit have mostly Brazilian players, and he doesn’t know if that’s good or not. He believes that when there are too many foreigners from the same country in a team, it can be an unfavorable factor.

All in all, a victory in the Russian Super Cup could boost the team’s confidence, but Petrzhela is convinced that Zenit must play better than in the Super Cup game and win comfortably to become champions.
