The fight was stopped in the seventh round
Former WBC junior welterweight champion Viktor Postol (31-5, 12 KOs) lost to a Dominican boxer Elvis Rodriguez (15-1-1, 13 KOs). The fight took place in Las Vegas on the undercard of the duel between Frank Martin and Artem Arutyunyan.
The opponents spent the first rounds in a mutual fight, where both boxers could count on success. Gradually, Rodriguez began to seize the initiative. In the sixth round, Postol was knocked down, but was able to continue the fight.
Already in the seventh round, Rodriguez had another successful series. Victor lost his balance and had a dissection by that time. The referee stopped the fight, awarding an early victory to the Dominican boxer.
This is the third consecutive defeat of the Ukrainian. In the previous fight, Victor lost by technical knockout to Gary Russell.
Postol held the WBC junior welterweight title in 2015 when he defeated Lucas Martin Matisse. A year later, he missed it, losing in a unification fight to Terence Crawford.
