Fury’s father: Ngannou fight is a good business move, Muhammad Ali did the same

John Fury convinced critics are jealous of Tyson

John Furyfather of the WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs), said that the “Gypsy King” fight against the former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou (17-3, 12 KOs) is a commercial success.

“Tyson beat everyone, he is the best in the world. I think people are just angry because there are a lot of envious people. First of all, this is envy, because any person with brains understands that this is a good business move, a good check. In any case, I believe that the people who give comments are irrelevant. I understand the fans, but what can we do? What can Tyson do? Nobody wants to fight him.”

“This opportunity turned up itself. Tyson grabbed it with both hands – why not? Now only the great country of Saudi Arabia organizes such fights, because everyone else is just destroying everything. The rest of the world cannot compete with Saudi Arabia at all. So the people commenting on this fight today don’t really understand anything.”

“Mohammed Ali did the same when he was a lineal champion. What is Tyson doing wrong? He can’t get a fight, he has no mandatory challengers. What should he do? Sit back and entertain the crowd?

Fury has not been in the ring since December 2022, when he defended his WBC title against Derek Chisora. In April, Tyson planned to have a unification fight with Oleksandr Usyk, but the Ukrainian pulled out of negotiations due to contract disagreements.

Ngannou had his last fight in the UFC in January last year, after which he left the promotion. In May, he signed with the Professional Fighters League.
