The Blue-Yellows finished third at EuroBasket U-20 in Division B
Ukrainian forward Alexander Kobzisty entered symbolic team EuroBasket 2023 among U-20 teams.
Kobzisty averaged 17.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists in the European Championship. For the match, the forward spent more than 31 minutes on the court and became third in the performance rating (18.1 points) at EuroBasket, and also entered the top 10 in points and rebounds.
In the match for the third place of the European Youth Championship in Division B, Ukraine beat Sweden (83:61), but remained in Division B. Initially, the top three teams of the tournament were supposed to be promoted in the class, but this year only the finalists of the championship will reach the elite division – Czech Republic and North Macedonia.
This related to thatthat Poland, which will host EuroBasket U-20 in division A in 2024, had to leave the elite division following the results of the current draw. However, according to the FIBA regulations, the host of the European Championship is guaranteed to receive a place in the tournament. Therefore, the Polish team retained its place in the A division.
