The fight ended early
Dominican boxer Elvis Rodriguez (15-1-1, 13 KOs) commented on his victory over the former WBC light welterweight champion, Ukrainian Viktor Postol (31-5, 12 KOs).
“We have a plan for every fight. In this fight, it may have helped that Freddie was coaching Postol.”
“It all started with the fifth round. When I hit him, I thought I broke his nose, so in the sixth I was going to kill my opponent. In the seventh round, I felt that he was completely mine. After my hits, he was in trouble. I already realized that the victory was in my pocket.”
“I’m ready for the championship fight. I worked too hard and too hard for this.”
Postol lost to Rodriguez in Las Vegas on the undercard of the fight between Frank Martin and Artem Harutyunyan. In the sixth round, Postol was knocked down, but was able to continue the fight. In the next round, Rodriguez had another successful streak. The referee stopped the fight, awarding an early victory to the Dominican boxer.
This is the third consecutive defeat of the Ukrainian. In the previous fight, Victor lost by technical knockout to Gary Russell.
