Athletistic/ Football. Former Spartak Moscow president Andrey Chervichenko has commented on the Polish Football Union’s decision not to call up defender Maciej Rybus to the country’s national team due to his move to Spartak.

“Either you had to stop calling all Poles playing in the RPL to the Polish national team, or no one. In the case of Rybus, such logic works that Shimansky (Dynamo Moscow midfielder Sebastian Shimansky – approx. Athletistic) and Krychowiak ( midfielder “Krasnodar” Grzegorz Krychowiak – approx. Athletistic) old contracts they have to fulfill, and because of this they are exempt from the measure of influence. And Rybus consciously concluded a new contract with the Russian club, and this causes a kind of scab, irritation,” said Chervichenko.

The ex-president of the Moscow club added that in his opinion Matsey did well to sign a contract with Spartak, risking losing the opportunity to play for the national team.

“He is 32 years old and how many more matches will he play for the Polish national team? Three or four? Why does he need this if he has a good contract with the club,” summed up Chervichenko .
