Newcomer to Barcelona Ilkay Gundogan spoke about the communication with the Catalans’ head coach xavier when discussing his move to the Spanish club.
The midfielder previously left Manchester City and signed with Barcelona.
“I was about to come here much earlier, but it wasn’t meant to be. The time has come. Xavi has been very clear about how the team wants to play. It’s very similar to how we played at Man City.
In his approach to negotiations, in his honesty, I saw a reflection of my own character. It was probably not so much what he said, but how he said it, which is sometimes more important,” Gundogan said.
Gundogan won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League with City last season. Barcelona won the Spanish Super Cup last season.
