Athletistic/Football. Paris Saint-Germain do not have the right to sell or sack striker Kylian Mbappe before the expiration of his contract, which runs until next summer, according to a statement from Marca. There is no legal option for a club to get rid of a player if he meets all the terms of the contract. FIFA representatives have confirmed that the club cannot sell a player against his will or expel him from the team under pressure, as this may lead to the termination of the contract by the player for good reason in accordance with article 14 of the FIFA regulations.

Therefore, PSG must be extremely careful regarding all actions related to Mbappé. The situation is similar to the one faced by Real Madrid when they tried to get rid of some players (Isco, Bale, Mariano) but failed.

On the other hand, the player has the right to leave the club without penalty. FIFA rules state that if a player hasn’t played in 10% of the team’s matches, he can request a transfer. However, in this case, he has no right to negotiate with other clubs more than six months before the expiry of the contract.

Kylian Mbappé announced at the start of the summer that he would not renew his contract with PSG and expressed his desire to go through with it. Next year, the club will most likely have to let the forward leave without compensation. The “Real” Madrid intends to take advantage of this situation.

  • PSG could face serious financial problems if Mbappe leaves for free
