The incident happened early Sunday morning in Zell am See. Gersbeck argued with one of the restaurant visitors, the conflict escalated into a fight. A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital.
On Monday, Hertha announced that Gersbeck had left the team location, the player has been suspended from training until further notice.
Gersbeck has been suspended from team training until further notice. This decision was made by management. The reason for the suspension was an alleged incident during a training camp in Zell am See. For now, he will maintain his fitness individually, the club said in a statement.
Hertha left the Bundesliga at the end of last season.
