Ukrainian tennis player lost in three sets to the fourth racket of the tournament
Ukrainian Katerina Volodko in the first round of the main draw of the WTA 250 tournament in Budapest lost to fourth seeded Yulia Putintseva from Kazakhstan.
The fight lasted almost two hours. The Ukrainian managed to win the first set with a score of 6:1. However, in the future, luck was on the side of the opponent – 2:6, 1:6. During the confrontation, Volodko made 5 breaks and lost 7 games at once on her serve.
For the first time since 2019, the Ukrainian tennis player played in the main draw of the WTA tournament. It was not possible to go further, however, Katerina, together with the representative of the Czech Republic Voracova, has yet to play in the doubles grid.
Recall that in the final qualification Volodko beat the sixth seeded Berfa Cengiz from Turkey. That meeting was not easy and lasted over two hours.
