The Chelsea head coach spoke with the players of his new team
Head coach Chelsea Mauricio Pochettino shared his first impressions of meeting the new team. The mentor talked with the Ukrainian winger Mikhail Mudrik.
“I talked a lot with all the players. Mudrik is a really good guy, he is still very young and has amazing potential. The most important thing is to gain trust. Players need to know us and how we operate. We had a lot of conversations and I’m so happy about it.”
“Also spoke with Levi Colville. Players need to know our opinion, they need to know if they have the opportunity to be in the starting lineup. We’re happy with everything and the reality of these two is that they need to talk on the pitch.”
Earlier, Pochettino said he wants to get to know the Ukrainian winger better during the off-season. The mentor plans to develop a training program to unlock Mikhail’s potential.
Mudrik went with Chelsea on a pre-season tour in the US. Chelsea are planning five friendly matches: Wrexham (July 20), Brighton (July 23), Newcastle (July 27), Fulham (July 30) and Borussia Dortmund (August 3).
Chelsea finished 12th in the Premier League and did not qualify for European competition. The Pochettino team will start the new season on August 13 with a match against Liverpool.
