The world champion signed a one-year contract with the UPL club
WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO World Heavyweight Champion Oleksandr Usyk officially signed a football contract with the club Ukrainian Premier League Polissya.
Usyk’s agreement with Polissya is designed for one year. The boxer received the 17th game number.
Usyk is a fan of the Zhytomyr club, and also played for Polesie in the Winter Cup friendly tournament.
In the summer, goalkeeper Denis Boyko, defenders Artem Shabanov and Sergei Chobotenko, midfielders Emil Mustafaev, Vyacheslav Tankovsky and Beni Makuana joined Polesye. Also, the Zhytomyr club rented Dynamo defender Nikita Kravchenko.
In the 1st round of the new UPL draw, Polesie will play with Veres. The fight will take place on July 28 in Zhytomyr.
On August 26, Usyk will fight against Briton Daniel Dubois. The fight will take place in Wroclaw, Poland, at the Tarczynski Arena.
