Athletistic/Football. The press service of the football club “Ferencvaros” confirmed the information that Russian coach Stanislav Cherchesov is leaving his post as head coach of the team.

Cherchesov’s resignation came after Ferencváros lost to Klaksvik (Faroe Islands) in the Champions League. The Hungarian team was relegated from the Champions League to the Conference League. Club president Gabor Kubatov had a personal meeting with Cherchesov and decided to step down as head coach.

The statement, published on the official website of Ferencváros, thanked Stanislav Cherchesov for his work in the team and wished him success in his future career.

Stanislav Cherchesov took charge of Ferencváros in December 2021 and during this period he became Hungarian champion twice and won the Hungarian Cup once.
