The Brazilian previously represented Atlético Paranaense
New player Miner Pedrinho commented on the transition to the Donetsk club. The Brazilian stressed that he had been following the Pitmen’s game for several years.
“The team is close-knit, all the guys are very friendly, so everything is just great. I have been following Shakhtar’s performances for a long time – several years. It’s a really big club where there have always been a lot of Brazilian players. And I am happy to be in such a team!”
“I have high speed and, in addition to defensive functions, I connect very well to attacks, so I hope to show my best qualities at Shakhtar, develop with the team and bring a lot of benefits to the club.”
“I want to establish myself in Shakhtar, play well, get trophies and, as I said, do as much as possible for the club. I would also like to express my solidarity and say that we all support Ukraine in these difficult times. We are with you!”
The defender signed a contract with the Pitmen until the end of June 2028. The 21-year-old Pedrinho’s previous club was Atlético Paranaense, which he left in May.
In July, Patrick van Leeuwen, ex-coach of Zorya Lugansk, became the new head coach of Shakhtar. In the first round of the new UPL season, the Pitmen will face Metalist 1925.
