Dnipro are aiming to reach the group stage of European competitions
Attack Dnepr-1 Artem Dovbik talked about the upcoming confrontation with Panathinaikos in the second qualifying round Champions League.
“They are one of the strongest teams in the Greek league, which always play first and have a lot of experience in European competition. We are all waiting for two very difficult games. I think nothing will be decided in Kosice yet, everything will be cleared up in the second leg in Athens.”
“I can’t name a favorite. It seems to me that Dnipro-1 and Panathinaikos are equal teams, and everything will be cleared up on the field.”
“Our main goal is to play in the group stage of the European Cup. Of course, our dream is to get into the Champions League, and we will do everything possible for this. We have a unique historic opportunity to achieve this.”
“This is a great motivation for us, but also a huge responsibility. The whole world knows what is happening in Ukraine. And we know how much we will inspire our fans, our compatriots, if we achieve something important.”
“We are not afraid of anything. Nothing worries us, be it the weather or the stands. We have the experience of last season and now we are used to playing home matches abroad. We know how much Greek fans support and love their teams. It will be difficult, but it will be just as difficult for Panathinaikos because of the support of our fans in Kosice, who also helped us a lot in European competition last year.”
“Regarding my future in Dnipro-1, I cannot know what it will bring. I don’t think about anything other than how to score and how to help the team reach the group stage of the Champions League.”
On Sunday, Oleksandr Kucher’s team arrived in the Slovak city of Kosice for the Champions League qualifying match. Dnipro-1 will play the first match with Panathinaikos on July 25. The meeting starts at 21:00 Kyiv time. Ticket prices range from 8 to 45 euros.
The return match between Dnipro-1 and Panathinaikos will take place on August 1 in Athens. The match starts at 21:30 Kyiv time. The fights will be broadcast by the UNIAN TV channel and the Youtube channel FootballHub.
