Fury: Usyk is too good for Joshua

The Ukrainian will have a second fight with the British on August 20

WBC World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury puts on Oleksandr Usyk in his second fight against Anthony Joshua.

The rematch between Usyk and Joshua will take place on August 20. In September, the Ukrainian defeated the ex-world champion by unanimous decision.

“Last time it was not an easy walk, there were enough dents and cuts on Usyk’s face. Usyk is not difficult to hit – he is right in front of you. Sure, Joshua can hit big, but I think Usyk is too good for him. Too smart, fast and left-handed,” Tyson said.

“I think that attempts [тренера Джошуа] Robert Garcia to prepare him for an aggressive fight will only allow Usyk to land accurate punches more often. I can’t imagine Joshua winning, but what do I understand about it? Nothing in boxing. I’m just a world champion, undefeated and all that.”

“Anyone can win a fight, we’ve seen it many, many times. Now is the right moment to defeat Usyk. His country is at war. Everything hung in the air. If he will be dispersed, now is the best time for this.

“But I think Usyk is just too good for Joshua. I don’t think Anthony has the ability to push him all 12 rounds, drag him into a dog fight and knock him out. To do this, you need to be elite. I don’t think Joshua has the will to do that. It suits him to take second place.”

It is expected that the winner of the rematch between Usyk and Joshua will be able to fight Fury for the undisputed world heavyweight title.

In April, Tyson announced his intention to end his professional career after a convincing victory over Dillian Whyte. At the same time, the Briton has not yet vacated the WBC championship belt.
