Oreshchuk noted that there are several alternative paths in this situation. Since Zakharyan comes from Dynamo football academy, he shouldn’t leave as a free agent. However, the decision rests with the sporting director, who must find the optimal solution. Zakharyan is worth at least €15m and it’s not advisable to sell him for less. Another option is to renegotiate the contract with Zakharyan and subsequent negotiations with other clubs on more favorable terms.
Previously, Roma’s Lazio turned down the chance to sign Zakharyan during the summer transfer window. Interest has also been reported by France from Strasbourg and Spain’s Real Sociedad. The player’s current deal runs until June 2024 and, according to online portal Transfermarkt, his estimated value is €15m.
