In the first round, CSKA defeated Orenburg, and Fakel lost to Sochi. In this regard, many expected a confident victory from the army team. However, everything happened according to a completely different scenario. CSKA were close to the goal, but Anton Zabolotny failed to convert a great chance. After that, in the 15th minute, the Voronezh club took the lead thanks to a goal from Maxim Maximov. Voronezh, after the interception, led a quick attack. The Voronezh team led an attack on the right flank, Alshin easily left Oblyakov and hung in the goalkeeper’s area, and Maksimov sent the ball into the opponent’s net with his head.
Thus, “Torch” won with the score 2:0. In another match of group A, “Orenburg” beat “Sochi” with the same score. This means that after two rounds, all the teams in the foursome have scored three points each. It is therefore not the personal encounters that take precedence, but the difference between the goals scored and the goals conceded. CSKA created a good start in this indicator in the first round and therefore remained in first place in Group A.
