In September, the Ukrainians will play with Slovakia for access to Euro 2023
Head coach of the youth team of Ukraine Ruslan Rotan shared his expectations from the meeting with Slovakia in the playoffs of Euro 2023 qualification.
The first match will take place on September 19, the second on the 27th.
“I immediately said: let us get the opponent we will pass. We accept the lot as it is. Slovakia is a pretty strong team. We already played with her at the tournament in Antalya, lost 2:3, although we won along the way with a score of 2:0, ”said Rotan.
“The fact that this is a productive team is immediately evident. Take, for example, our duel with the Slovaks, then they had the Spaniards in the qualifying group, to whom they lost twice with a score of 2:3. This team both scores a lot and concedes a lot. A worthy opponent, we respect him, we will prepare for these matches.”
“As for the personnel of the youth team of Ukraine, it is very important that our championship starts. It’s hard for guys when they don’t have a game tone. On understanding and moral-volitional qualities it is very difficult for them. A nosebleed is necessary for us to have a championship. We will keep an eye on new talents, but we have the main backbone. All the guys who have passed the qualifying round will prove that we deserve to get to the European Championship.
The main part of the qualification Ukrainian “youth team” finished in second place in group “H”, losing three points to the French team.
The final tournament of Euro 2023 in June-July next year will be hosted by Romania and Georgia. The current European champions are the German youth team.
