Lokomotiv Moscow striker Maxim Gluchenkov said he would not celebrate a goal against Samara Wings of the Soviets.
Glushenkov has previously played for “Wings” , as a member of the team, the 24-year-old footballer played 60 games and scored 16 goals. In December last year, the striker moved to “Locomotive” . On Saturday, the teams will play in Moscow as part of the fourth round of the Russian Championship.
– The game against Krylia last season went well for you: an assist just after coming on as a substitute. How is it to play against an old team?
– There are no strong differences in mood: you prepare for the match, as usual. Another thing is that you have more information about your opponent. Well, you’re dating good friends. Before the game, we usually tease each other, kind of jokes. There are no friends on the pitch: we fought a little, we fought and after the final whistle we hugged, we sat somewhere and talked. I have excellent relations with several guys from the Wings, we stay in touch.
– Ivan Sergeev recently scored a goal against the Wings, but didn’t celebrate because it’s his former team.
– I agree with Vania. I also won’t celebrate if I score. Of course, there will be positive emotions, but I won’t show them.
— Did the fans warmly welcome you in Samara?
– Alright. I had a great relationship with the fans, and Samara has fond memories of that. In fact, the Wings gave me the way to the Premier League.
– Former Krylia football players Sergey Pinyaev and Vladislav Sarveli also play at Lokomotiv. Does it help you in terms of teamwork?
“Of course, some moments were easier for us, because we went on the pitch together even before Loko, but there was already a mutual understanding with other guys: we played more than six months together”, quotes the Lokomotiv Glushenkov website.
