Artem scored eight minutes after coming on as a substitute

The Basques took the lead already in the 5th minute – Takefusa Kubo took advantage of the transfer of Ayen Munoz. Eight minutes later, Sociedad got the right to take a penalty, but the referee changed his mind after watching VAR.
Girona bounced back in the middle of the second half with the efforts of the Ukrainian duet – Artem Dovbik closed the supply Viktor Tsygankov. The striker scored his debut goal in the first official match for the Spanish team.
Note that Dovbik scored eight minutes after coming on as a substitute. Tsygankov spent the entire match on the field.
Recall that Dovbik signed a contract with Girona until the summer of 2028. It was reported that the Spanish club paid seven million euros for the transfer of the forward Dnepr-1 and received more than 50% of the rights to the player.
In the next round, Girona will host Getafe on August 20. Real Sociedad will play Celta Vigo the day before.
