Iga ended her 8-match winning streak
Iga Schwentek lost Jessica Pegula in the 1/2 finals of the tournament WTA 1000 in Montreal. Tennis players spent two and a half hours on the court.
In the first set, Iga lost four games on her serve, making only two breaks in response – 2:6. The fate of the second game was decided in a tie-break – 7:4 in favor of the Polish tennis player.
In the third set, Sventek led 4-2, but Pegula made two more breaks and got the final victory. The American beat Iga for the third time in her career.
In the final of the tournament in Montreal, Pegula will play against the winner of the match Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan, 3) – Lyudmila Samsonova (-, 15).
Sventek ended her 8-match winning streak. Iga suffered a previous defeat in July from Ukrainian Elina Svitolina in the 1/4 finals of Wimbledon.
