The International Football Federation has expanded the applications of teams participating in the World Cup in Qatar to 26 people.
At the World Cup in Qatar, participating teams will be able to add 26 players to the application instead of the usual 23. This decision was made at the International Football Federation.
In addition, they allow to increase the maximum number of players in the initial application. Now national teams can bring 55 people there instead of 35, as before. At the same time, teams must compile a final list of players for a trip to Qatar no later than November 13th.
No more than 26 people can be on the bench during a match: 15 players and 11 staff members, of which at least one must be a doctor.
Recall that previous similar changes were made to UEFA for Euro 2020. The increase in the number of players in the application is due to next season’s busy schedule, as well as the coronavirus pandemic.
