Left Bank in the last round suffered the first home defeat during the performances in the PFL championships (1:3 from SC Poltava), but immediately rehabilitated with a hurricane victory over FC Chernihiv – 5:1 in the minority. Scored by himself and assisted twice by the player whom Sport Arena, together with the PFL, named the best in the 3rd round of the First League 2023/24.
The hero of the third round in the First League, Ruslan Dedukh, shared his impressions of the victory over Chernihiv (5:1) with the Sport Arena. In this match, Ruslan took part in three goals of the Left Bank.
– Of course, it is always nice to receive a symbolic award, – Ruslan said. “But what matters most is the victory of the team. Individual achievements are just a bonus. It was not easy for us, but in the minority we still managed to win.
– How significantly did the defeat from Poltava affect the team, because before that the Left Bank had not lost on its own field?
– We knew that sooner or later we still lose, but we didn’t think that this would happen at home. I believe that they adequately coped with the psychological pressure and were able to rehabilitate themselves.
– The coaching staff put forward an attacking tactical scheme for the confrontation with Chernihiv. Did you expect from the first minutes not to let the opponent out of your own half of the field?
– Indeed, we have rebuilt somewhat and it has borne fruit. We tried to have as many players as possible in the opponent’s half of the field in order to put pressure on the opponent’s defense.
– You defeated FC Chernihiv in the Ukrainian Cup. Did you take into account this confrontation during the preparation?
– Indeed, we paid attention to this, because the opponent played three games in a row with the same squad. We carefully analyzed the game of the “northerners”, drew certain conclusions from the previous confrontation. I am happy that I was able to put my ideas into practice.
– At the beginning of the meeting, after your pass from a free kick, Voitsekhovsky opened the scoring. It was a feigned combination, after all, you aimed at the far post, didn’t you?
– We agreed with Vladislav, and it worked. We pay great attention to standards, because this is an important component in modern football.
– Even before the break, you increased the advantage of the team from the penalty spot. When did you find out that it was Vai who would get the role of the penalty taker? How important is this mission for you?
– I was confident in my abilities. Thanks to the partners who noticed my confidence and trusted me to break the 11-meter. I’m glad I didn’t let the team down.
– What did the coaching staff focus on during the break?
– By that time we were already in the minority, so it was necessary to move correctly around the field, save energy. The emphasis was on tactics. It was important to play defensively and take advantage of our chances in counterplay.
– Due to what did you manage to win in the minority? It seemed that in the minority you even played better?
– We were angry with ourselves after the defeat in the last round. I wanted to prove that it was all a coincidence. We understood that in the minority we need to work even harder. It is important that you managed to realize your moments.
– In the Left Bank, substitute footballers often score goals. This is probably one of the biggest advantages of your team, because everyone can adequately enter the game and help?
– Everyone tunes in to the game as much as possible and strives to help the team. Healthy competition is good for us. We can only thank the guys who come out of the bench.
– In this game, you took part in three of the five goals. One of your best matches lately?
– Effective actions are good, but the main thing is to do what the coach requires. I just try to be useful to the team. I hope this is not my last quality match.
– How did you play against ex-teammates? Did you manage to communicate with them after the match?
– I spent a lot of time in Chernihiv. Unfortunately, there was a serious injury, but the club helped me recover. I am sincerely grateful for this. We talked with the guys after the match. They said that it is a little easier for them to play on artificial turf.
– Did you have offers from other clubs? Why did you choose the Left Bank?
– Other clubs were interested in me, but I knew Vitaly Pervak, so when he called, I immediately agreed. I was looking forward to the start of the season and I do not regret my choice.
How would you rate the level of competition in your position? Does it force you to constantly keep yourself in good shape?
– We have 2-3 players for each position who are able to play in the squad. Such competition does not allow you to relax and allows you to progress. You have to work every day, and then everything will be fine.
– In three seasons in Ternopil Niva, you played 25 matches in the Second League. How much did this experience help in the process of professional development?
– Of course, he could not fail to benefit, because he managed to go through the formation of a professional football player. It helped me a lot in the future.
What are your goals for this season?
– It is important to achieve a positive result in every match. The Academy of the Left Bank works well for us, so it is important to be an example for the pupils of our school. This is one of the most important tasks of the first team. As for myself, I want to go through the season without injuries and bring maximum benefit to the team.
– This week there is also a cup game, and then a confrontation with Ingulets. Perhaps this is the most responsible segment in this part of the season?
– Indeed, the team is having a difficult time, because there is very little time to recover. However, we were preparing for this. You need to tune in to the confrontation with Ingulets as much as possible and prove yourself.
