Athletistic/Football. Leonid Goldman, a representative of Lokomotiv footballer Artyom Dzyuba, has expressed his views regarding the penalties applied to the player for indecent behavior towards a media representative.

On Saturday, after the RPL 4th round match between Lokomotiv and Wings of the Soviets, Dziuba and his family were heading to their car in the parking lot. At that time, the RB Sport reporter asked the striker a question, filming him on the phone, regarding Igor Shalimov’s statement, which suggested that Dzyuba would score no more than two match goals this season. In response, the footballer promised to put the journalist’s phone in the same place. The RFU Control and Disciplinary Committee issued a decision on conditional disqualification for two matches and a fine of 50,000 rubles.

“I avoided commenting on this situation for a long time, but I received many calls from journalists. All these events around the incident with Borodin (a journalist offended by Dziuba. – Editor’s note), as well as the decision of the FTC , got me talking,” Goldman said.

In his opinion, the decision to disqualify Artyom is baffling. Goldman believes that now, at any time, anyone can approach a famous person with a phone and ask a question without proper credentials, without introducing themselves and what media outlet they work for, expecting to receive a response.

Regarding the incident with journalist Borodin, Goldman claims that it happened after a match in which Dziuba did not participate and was not part of the team. The footballer was at the stadium with his family, with his wife, children and relatives, heading to his car after an unsuccessful game for Lokomotiv. According to Goldman, the reporter approached Dziuba several times, but received no response. This, according to Goldman, was an outright provocation by a journalist.

Additionally, Goldman noted that this reporter was working at the game with “photo” accreditation, meaning he had no right to receive player commentary. His duty was to photograph the participants of the match. Goldman also claims that the club has had problems with this journalist in the past, and that he has already lost his accreditation. These incidents concerned other players, but not Artyom Dziuba. Thus, Goldman believes that the journalist deliberately chose the path of provocations and scandals.
