Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla signed a contract with Real Oviedo for one year.
The 38-year-old midfielder is a graduate of the Oviedo Academy. Cazorla joined on a free transfer and agreed to the minimum wage set for Segunda clubs. In addition, Santi transferred all image rights to the club with one condition – 10% of the proceeds from the sale of shirts will go to the development of the youth academy of Real Oviedo.
Cazorla has previously played for Villarreal, Malaga, Arsenal and Qatari Al Sadd. On account of the midfielder – 81 matches for the Spanish national team, in which he scored 15 goals.
Real Oviedo lost in the first round of the Segunda Tenerife (0:1). In the next round, Cazorla’s team will host Ferrol on 20 August.
