The midfielder left the Olympic and will soon undergo a medical examination at the new club
Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovsky leaves Marseilles and continue his career in Genoa.
A deal between the clubs on a one-year loan with an option to buy for 10 million euros has already been concluded. The player had to undergo a medical examination before the official signing of the contract.
Earlier it was reported that Besiktas, Bologna and Premier League clubs were interested in the Ukrainian. At the same time, the player had an agreed contract with Torino, but the Bulls could not agree with Marseille on the amount of a possible buyout after the lease.
Malinovsky in January moved to Marseille from Atalanta on loan. In July, the French club activated the option to buy out the Ukrainian’s contract. Ruslan’s contract with Marseille is calculated until the summer of 2026.
Malinovsky played 23 matches for Olimpik in all competitions last season. The Ukrainian scored two goals in them and gave one assist.
Marseille, without Malinovsky, lost on aggregate to Panathinaikos in the Champions League qualification. Genoa, who have returned to Serie A, will host Fiorentina in their first match of the new season of the Italian championship on August 19.
