Grigory Barchishin volunteered for the front
FC Chaika asks to support the petition to the President of Ukraine to confer the honorary title of Hero of Ukraine (posthumously) to a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Hryhoriy Barchishin (04/03/1986), who once defended the colors of the football teams Karpaty-2, Obolon and Chaika. Before the start of a full-scale war, he worked in the former Main Territorial Department of Justice in the Lviv region.
“Since 2022, with the start of a full-scale invasion, Grigory voluntarily stood up for the defense of the Motherland in the ranks of the military unit A7376 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kiev. Performing combat missions in the eastern direction, he also evacuated the wounded brothers, ”the club said in a statement.
“Together with his brothers, he defended the Bakhmut area, which became an outpost for deterring the Russian invasion. The situation was extremely complex. Fighters daily and every night kept the enemy at the forefront. From the very beginning to the end, Gregory heroically defended our land. He was a real warrior, a man of his word, a man of courage, a model of invincibility and fortitude.”
Early in the morning of February 24, 2022, Russia launched rocket and air strikes on most Ukrainian cities and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The war against Russia has been going on for 540 days.
