Kucher: We had four matches in European competition with good teams

Mentor Dnepr-1 Oleksandr Kucher commented on the outcome of the second match against Slavia Prague in the third qualifying stage of the Europa League (1:1). The coach stressed that there are no weak teams in the Conference League, where his wards will play.

“If we compare two matches, it was clear that today there was a team on the field. The guys did not lose to Slavia, tried to play, tried to win, but the missed goal broke us a little. Nevertheless, with the score 1:0, there were still chances and we had a moment. Of course, we didn’t want to concede so quickly, but we believed in the victory.”

“We had four matches in European competitions with good teams. We’ve had big moves. Of course, it is difficult to recover, because when you spend five hours on the road, you arrive and it is not always possible to recover.

“Spartacus from Trnava? Let’s study and watch. Spartak lost the first game, and now it was a home game for them and the result could be both in their favor and in favor of Lech. There are no easy opponents in such tournaments. Everyone gives all their strength and emotions for the sake of such matches. We will have a tough fight. We will teach the opponent, but I know for sure that it will not be easy for us.”

The first match of the confrontation ended with a crushing victory of the Czech club 3:0. The return match between Dnipro-1 and the Prague club ended in a draw (1:1). Thus, Slavia reached the playoff round of the Europa League qualification, where they will play with Luhansk Zorya.

Dnipro-1 will continue to play in the Conference League. In the playoff round, the team of Oleksandr Kucher will meet with the Slovak Spartak from Trnava. The match will take place on 24 and 31 August.
