The champions of Ukraine decided to change not only the stadium, but also the country for nominal home matches.
Donetsk Shakhtar have announced that they will play their home matches of the Champions League season 2023/24 in Hamburg, Germany at the Volksparkstadion.
The representative of the second Bundesliga agreed to give his stadium for the games of the main European Cup. UEFA also supported similar cooperation between clubs.

It should be noted that the Volksparkstadion seats 57,000 spectators at national level matches and 51,500 spectators at international matches.
The arena was built and opened in 1998. In 2006, the stadium hosted World Cup matches, and next year it will host European Championship games.
On May 12, 2010, the first ever Europa League final took place in this arena, where Madrid Atlético lose Fulgem with a score of 2:1.
The Volksparkstadion arena is most memorable for Ukrainian sports fans by the fight for the IBF, WBO and WBA world titles between Wladimir Klitschko and David Hay, which ended in victory for the Ukrainian. The match took place on July 2, 2011.
